How We Started
DMS Building Components, Inc. began in 1999. DMS hired Kevin Werre, brand new to Colorado, as a designer and general manager to get the business started and growing. His goal was simple: lead with superior customer service and excellent attention to detail. Kevin had already learned the truss trade in Laramie, Wyoming. He assembled a group of hardworking, motivated individuals who shared those same values, and together they quickly brought DMS to the forefront of local manufacturing.
Aside from having a new owner, DMS ran the same as it always had. Kevin continued to manage and design under new ownership, and he never lost sight of quality and service.
Weathering the Downturn
When the national economy turned upside down, building slowed to a near halt. A diligent finance plan and strong vendor relationships kept DMS in business, even as many nationwide competitors closed their local facilities. Because of those loyal relationships and loyal employees, DMS rode out the turbulence. Today, we’re still the only local truss plant standing.
DMS Today
Kevin remains the main force behind DMS. He continues to manage and design every day. DMS is one of the fortunate small businesses that survived the economic downturn in the building community, along with the sacrifices that came with it. One thing will never be compromised: product integrity and customer service. We built this business on quality and exceptional service, and we intend to extend those same values to every client, current and new.
